Car Insurance Mercedes-Benz (Car Insurance). Mazda RX-7 good 1st car?

Mazda RX-7 good 1st car? I want to buy a RX-7 as a first car im 16 and I was wondering if it was a reliable car... I want to buy one as cheap as possable and build it up from there, also would one for about 10-15k with 110k+ miles on it would be good or bad?.. thanks

If you got $10-15K to spend as a 1st time driver I wouldn't even try buying an old sports car. No sports car is truely reliable and they are all expensive to repair/maintain. At 16 you won't even be able to get insurance for this car and you will wreck it and then be you $10-15K. Instead buy a 4 year old Honda Civic Si or Hyundai Tiburon that will last a long time without problems. 1. A car is only as reliable as it's owner. It can't maintain itself, repair itself, or do anything on it's own. And seeing as the definition of "reliable" implies no outside influence...a car CANNOT be reliable. They're crap even if you're a mechanic. If you're not, get something else like an svo mustang. That's a 3-4k car and much more reliable. No, but not because it is a sports car but because it is temperamental. It takes attention to details. As Old Man Dirt said, attention to detail is MANDATORY. There are no shortcuts with rotaries, you either do it right or the band-aid you put on it will break and take out a few more things with it and THEN you have to do it right on everything that broke.

2011 Kia Sportage or 2011 Nissan Rogue? I will be purchasing a vehicle soon, and I am not sure which one is better. I live in the northeast so AWD is a must for the winter. I like the looks of the Kia better, and the Nissan name better. They both get good gas mileage for an SUV-Crossover in my opinion. Have you had any experiences with one or both? Any suggestions or recommendations for other makes/models? http://www.kia.com/#/sportage/explore http://www.nissanusa.com/rogue car insurance.

Mercedes-Benz . How to Replace a 4Runner's Timing Belt

The 1996 through 2000 Toyota 4Runner 3.4L V6 engine is a freewheeling engine, which means that should the timing belt stretch past the scope of the tensioner, extensive engine damage will most likely not occur. Toyota has not recommended a specific interval to replace the timing belt on this model, but previous use and service history dictates that the timing belt should be replaced every 60,000 miles. It takes just under three hours to replace the timing belt, and the job requires several special tools, all available at any Toyota dealership.
Difficulty:Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Set of wrenches
Set of sockets
Drain pan
Crankshaft pulley holding tool handle No. 09330-00021
Crankshaft pulley holding tool No. 09213-54015
Pulley No. 09950-50010
Press
Allen wrench
Torque wrench

Step by Step :
1
Disconnect the negative battery cable and lay it aside, ensuring that it does not touch metal. Remove the engine splash guard using the appropriate socket. Set the drain pan under the radiator drain plug. Loosen the drain plug and allow the radiator to drain. If the drain pan is clean, you can reuse the antifreeze. Remove the upper radiator hose by loosening the clamp, then pulling the hose off.
2
Loosen the tensioners on the accessory drive belts. If the tensioners are sliders, just loosen the lock bolts and slider bolts, then push the accessory toward the engine. If the tensioner has a pulley, use a socket or wrench to rotate the pulley away from the belt, thus relieving tension on the belt. Lift the belts off the pulleys.
3
Remove the radiator shroud and the cooling fan and its coupling using the appropriate sockets. Unbolt the power steering pump and the air conditioning compressor, but do not remove the hoses. Lay both out of the way in the engine compartment. Remove the air conditioning compressor bracket, dipstick and guide tube, upper timing belt cover and the cooling fan bracket using the appropriate sockets and wrenches.
4
Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt using the crankshaft pulley holding tool and the crankshaft pulley holding tool handle. Remove the crankshaft pulley using the puller. Unbolt and remove the lower timing belt cover using the appropriate socket, then slide the timing belt guide washer off.
5
Reinstall the crankshaft pulley bolt temporarily. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until all the timing marks are lined up. Both camshafts and the crankshaft timing marks line up at the 12 o'clock position. The camshaft timing marks consist of a dot on each camshaft that lines up with a raised notch on the head. The crankshaft has a dot on the sprocket that lines up with a notch on the block.
6
Remove the auto tensioner and the dust boot using the appropriate sockets. It is easier to reach them by rolling under the engine. Lift the timing belt off the sprockets. Rotate the guide and tensioner pulleys. If the pulleys make noise or have any resistance, replace them. Check the auto tensioner for signs of oil leakage. If you see oil leaking, replace the auto tensioner. If you can push the pushrod by hand, replace the auto tensioner. Measure the visible part of the pushrod. If the measurement does not fall between 0.39 and 0.42 inches, replace the pushrod. Check that the timing marks are still lined up.
7
Install the timing belt starting on the right camshaft sprocket (as you are looking down at the engine). Route the timing belt under the guide pulley and over the top of the left camshaft. Grab the other side of the timing belt and route it from the right camshaft sprocket, down behind the water pump pulley, around the crankshaft sprocket, then behind the tensioner pulley. Keep the belt taut on the non-tensioner side. Make sure the arrow marks on the belt point away from the engine.
8
Insert the auto tensioner in a press. Press the pushrod into the auto tensioner body until the hole in the pushrod lines up with the hole in the auto tensioner body. Insert an Allen wrench through the holes to hold the pushrod in place. Install the auto tensioner and the dust boot. Tighten the auto tensioner retaining bolts to 20 foot-pounds of toque. Remove the Allen wrench from the auto tensioner.
9
Turn the crankshaft clockwise two turns (slowly) until the timing marks line up again. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt. Install the rest of the parts in reverse order of removal. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt to 184 foot-pounds of torque for 1996 through 1998 models and 217 foot-pounds of torque for 1999 through 2000 models. Tighten the radiator drain plug. Refill the radiator.

Mercedes-Benz . How Do I Replace a 1989 Toyota Pickup Truck Timing Belt?

The 1989 Toyota pickup truck features a 3.0L V6 engine, which is a freewheeling engine. This means that should the timing belt stretch past the scope of the tensioner, the valves will most likely not hit the pistons and will probably not cause extensive engine damage, but it will leave you stranded. Toyota has not recommended a specific interval to change the timing belt, but previous use and service history suggests replacing the belt every 60,000 miles. It takes about five hours to replace the timing belt and no special tools are required.
Difficulty:Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Set of wrenches
Drain pan
Set of sockets
Screwdriver
General-purpose puller
Torque wrench

Step by Step :
1
Disconnect the negative battery cable and lay it aside, using a wrench. Do not let it touch metal. Place the drain pan under the radiator drain bolt, then loosen the bolt to allow the radiator to drain. If the drain pan is clean, the antifreeze can be reused. Remove the radiator, water outlet and its studs and the cooling fan, using the appropriate sockets.
2
Unbolt the power steering pump. Do not take the hoses off. Lay the pump out of the way. Loosen the clamps on the air intake hoses using a screwdriver or the appropriate socket. Remove the air intake hoses. Loosen the tensioners on the accessory drive belts. If the tensioner is a slider, loosen the bolt, then push the accessory toward the engine. If the tensioner has a pulley, use a wrench or socket to push the pulley away from the belt to loosen the tension on the belt. Lift the belts off the pulleys.
3
Remove the upper timing belt cover using the appropriate sockets. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the notch on the crankshaft pulley lines up with the zero-mark on the lower timing belt cover. Check the camshaft sprocket timing marks. The left camshaft (as you are looking down at the engine) sprocket has a line that matches up with a line on the head at the 12 o'clock position. The right camshaft sprocket has three lines. The middle line lines up with the line on the head at the 12 o'clock position. If the camshaft timing marks are not lined up, turn the crankshaft one more turn, and all three marks will line up.
4
Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt using the appropriate socket, then, using the puller, pull the crankshaft sprocket off. Remove the fan pulley bracket and the lower timing belt cover using the appropriate sockets, then pull the timing belt washer off.
5
Unhook and remove the tensioner spring. Loosen the tensioner bolt. Push the tensioner out of the way. Tighten the tensioner bolt enough to hold the tensioner out of the way. Lift the timing belt off the sprockets and pulleys. Remove the tensioner. Check the tensioner by spinning it in your hand. If you hear noise or feel resistance, replace the tensioner. Measure the spring. If the length of the spring is not 2.21 inches, replace the spring. Reinstall the tensioner pulley and spring.
6
Push the tensioner to the left and tighten the bolt to hold it in place. Number the camshafts: the left one (as you are looking down at the engine) is C1, and the right one is C2. Remove the bolts from the sprockets, but do not remove the sprockets. Pull the dowel pins out of the sprockets. Do not turn the sprockets. The dowel pin holes must remain at the 12 o'clock position.
7
Reinstall the camshaft sprocket bolts, but do not let the heads of the bolts touch the sprockets. The sprockets should be able to turn freely. Make sure the timing marks are lined up.
8
Install the timing belt, starting on C1. Route it under the guide pulley that is between C1 and C2, then over the top of C2. Moving back to the left, route the timing belt behind the tensioner pulley, then on the right, behind the water pump pulley. Slide the belt under the crankshaft sprocket. Keep the timing belt taut on the non-tensioned side (the side with the water pump pulley).
9
Install the crankshaft pulley bolt temporarily. Loosen the tensioner bolt so that the tensioner puts tension on the belt. Turn the crankshaft clockwise two turns until the timing marks line up again. Tighten the tensioner bolt to 27 foot-pounds of torque. Remove the bolts from the camshaft sprockets. Insert the dowel pins, taking care that the camshaft sprockets do not detach from the camshafts.

Step by Step :
10
Reinstall the camshaft sprocket bolts. Tighten the bolts to 80 foot-pounds of torque. Remove the crankshaft pulley bolt. Slide the guide washer on the crankshaft. Install the lower timing belt cover and the crankshaft pulley. Reinstall the crankshaft pulley bolt. Tighten it to 181 foot-pounds of torque. Install the rest of the parts in reverse order of removal. Tighten the radiator drain plug. Refill the radiator.

If your automatic transmission seems to be acting up — by hesitating when you change gears, or by shifting with a "clunk" — first check your transmis sion dipstick. Your transmission fluid may be low or dirty, or it may have dried. Chapter 3 tells you how to find and check your transmission dipstick and how to buy the proper kind of transmission fluid for your vehicle. It's a good idea to check this fluid fairly often anyway as part of your regular under-the-hood check. A good many "band jobs" have been bought and paid for when a quart of transmission fluid would have solved the problem for pennies. Before emptying your wallet, check your transmission fluid level and try the following remedies: 791 Car Insurance 1997 nissan 200sx se rcoupe2d 452139

' If your fluid level is low, with the emergency brake on and the gearshift in Neutral or Park, use a funnel to add a teeny bit of fluid at a time down the dipstick hole until the fluid level just reaches the "Full" line on the stick. Do not fill beyond the line; driving with too much transmission fluid can damage your transmission. If the level is low again in a couple of days, look under the car for a leak around the transmission; you may need to replace a seal. .Chapter 17: What to Do If Your Transmission Stops Running Smoothly V If your fluid level is fine but your transmission isn't working well — or if your fluid keeps disappearing and no leaks are evident — you probably need transmission work. W If your transmission fluid looks or smells burned or dirty, you may want to consider having the fluid, filter, and pan gasket changed. Transmissions should be serviced every 20,000 to 25,000 miles, but if your vehicle has more than 100,000 miles on it and the transmission fluid has never been changed, don't change it unless there are really serious reasons for doing so. The old transmission fluid has formed a deposit around the front transmission seal. If this fluid is totally replaced with fresh fluid, the

new stuff can dissolve the deposit, and the old seal may start to leak. In this case, I'd add just enough new fluid to bring the level up to the "Full" mark on the dipstick or as close to it as possible. Then, when the poor, neglected beast dies, have the transmission rebuilt (unless the rest of the car is dying, too). This does not mean that you shouldn't have the transmission serviced. Because you'll probably lose only 3 quarts in the process of servicing, replac ing the lost fluid shouldn't disturb the seals. If you have an all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive vehicle, don't forget to check the fluid level in the transfer case, too. The malfunctioning Vacuum modulator caper

Many older vehicles with automatic transmissions have an inexpensive device called a vacuum modulator. When the vacuum modulator goes bad, the car tends to stay in low gear all the time or shift with a bang — especially into lower gears. These little devils can suck up transmission fluid and burn it, causing white or gray smoke to emerge from the tailpipe as you shift gears. If your car has a vacuum modulator and it's easy to reach, it's worth the gamble to replace it before you consider more costly remedies. You usually only have to unscrew the old one to replace it. To be clear about the work involved, consult a service manual for your vehicle's make, model, and year at your local library. Even if you're now lubricating your steering linkage and suspension system yourself (as I describe in Chapter 16), you should still take your car to a service station to have everything lubricated at least once a year. Check to see whether your rear end (sorry, that's the way they refer to the differential) needs lubrication. Here's how: 1. Find the inspection plug in the differential (that's the gear box between the two rear wheels of the vehicle).
